Learning Resources and Databases

 

New Resource!  Universal Class

              Educational service providing high quality online courses (generally high-school age and older) interested in personal    

               and/or professional development. Patrons register online using their library identification, participate in classes at their own

               pace, correspond with instructors and have up to six months to complete and individual class. More than 500 courses are

               available, offering classes on arts and crafts, job skills, test  preparation and much more. Continuing education credit

               available for select courses.

Listen UP! Vermont

            Downloadable audio books in MP3 and WMA formats, include children's, young adult, fiction and non-fiction titles.

               Downloads may be saved to your computer terminal, compatible device, burned to a CD from home or the Library.

               Limited title availability. Requires valid library card and software download. See "Quick Start Guide" for detailed instructions.

Vermont Online Library  

        A selection of full-text databases available to our patrons. Accessible in library or from home with password. (Patrons                

          must have current card and account in good standing to qualify for remote access.) Request password in person, from

          Reference staff or Children's Librarians. Passwords are not provided over the phone.

Wilson First Search

Full-text database of academic, professional and trade publications in science, humanities, education and business.

Includes access to WorldCat, an international bibliographic database. Accessible in library only.

       Caregivers Resources

                    Print and video materials funded by a grant from the Southwest Vermont Council on Aging.                                                            

                    Topics range from Alzheimer's to grandparents as parents and are available for loan.                            

           Vermont History Room

                     Non-circulating research collection on Vermont local and state history.

       For all audio and video collections (Books on tape or CD/VHS or DVD please check the Library's online catalog.

           A list of older titles (not included in online catalog) is available in-house.
